Wonder what Philly did to try and shake things up. Or not.

Games 2,3 and 4 all tied for the longest game in the series at an unmanageable 1:55 each.

Votto has never popped out to the pitcher, catcher, or first baseman. Weird stat.

They didn't piss it away. The Red Sox have lost like four games since the All-Stat break. They are better, period, at least for now,

The Red Sox are on pace for about 110 wins. The Yankees are on pace to win more than 100.
I'm not sure there's much more the Yankees could do to win that division.
Both teams are having historical seasons. It just so happens they're in the same division and the Yankees are having a slightly less historic one. That's sports, man.

Speaking of historic, the Yankees could become only the fourth team since the start of divisional play in 1969 -- and first since 2001 -- to win 100 games and not win their division.
The 1980 Orioles won 100 games and finished second to the Yankees. The 1993 Giants won 103 and wound up a game behind the Braves. And the 2001 A's won 102 and were 14 back of the 116-win Mariners, although the A's at least got into the playoffs as the wild card.
Pre-1969, six teams won 100 games and finished second in their respective leagues.

Bonus stat of the day: The Astros are also on pace to win more than 100 games. If the Yankees, Red Sox and Astros all finish with more than 100 wins it would be the first time in MLB history that three teams in the same league have won more than 100 games.
If an NL team can join those three (or the Mariners or A's, who both have better records than any NL team), it would be the first time there have ever been four 100-win teams in the same season.

What's crazy is the Indians are running away with the Central but five teams have better records in the AL to the point they would be out of the playoffs in any other division. They are mere percentage points up on Arizona to barely make it in the NL playoffs as the No. 2 wild card. Meanwhile a 90-plus win team in the Mariners or As will miss the playoffs and be between 5 and 10 games better than a division winner.

Orioles and Royals seem to be on pace for 100 loss seasons. Orioles close to a 110 loss pace. Could not happen to a worse baseball owner

I’m hoping for a new promotion like Disco Demolition Night.
