Yesterday, as a pitcher, Ohtani induced 25 swinging strikes, most by any major league pitcher this year.

Just think how good he would be if Ohtani was actually ready for the season.

Shit, based on your previous post ...

“He’s basically like a high school hitter because he’s never seen a good curveball,” the scout said. “He’s seen fastballs and changeups. And you’re asking a high school hitter to jump to the major leagues?”

... he sounds like he needs to be hitting Pony league pitching.

Jayson showing some spunk for a 60-year-old.

We should just call it a season now and take the next six months off.

Why? Do some scouts and baseball writers think we should?

We'll know the scouts were wrong when Whitman starts the "Shohei Ohtani: HOF?" thread.

Being ready for the season does not mean, to me, performing well for two weeks. The season is a seemingly endless grind of valleys, road trips and injuries. It is not a fortnight during which you didn't leave the state of California.

Some baseball people thought he should have started the season in the Minors. He's proved all them wrong with his start this season.

If he goes 0-for-May with an ERA of 14.32, are they still wrong?

    Spectacularly, emphatically, yes.
