It was bittersweet seeing the remaining heroes of the 1968 champion Tigers
Mickey Lolich and Denny McLain were in wheelchairs although McLain stood to throw out the first pitch
I was 13 when I went to Games 4 and 5 and was right behind home plate, in perfect position to see Lou Brock’s foot fall to the side of home plate
I always felt the 68 Series got kind of lost because it was followed immediately by the Miracle Mets, but those men know what they accomplished and were appreciated greatly by the Tigers fans in attendance, who came to see them on a blustery day featuring a rebuilding team

In fairness, they did circumvent the process. But fuck the Yankees and Red Sox anyways.

So Mark Shapiro slipped his friends a player.

The Kansas City A’s operated as a Yankees farm club for 15 years.

They would have done it for any team that claimed it off waivers.

    Gehrig, Klein, Robinson ...

    ... and maybe Bregman.

30 HR, 50 doubles, 10 SBs, more walks than strikeouts.

    Bregman is a double away.

The Angels have used 5 bullpen pitchers... and are taking a no-hitter into the seventh.

ADD: Make that 6 bullpen pitchers, no-hitter into the eighth.

Blake Snell would be the most ironic choice for Cy Young ever.

    Nothing going on in Tampa.

Except for Blake Snell racking up a high pitch count through six.
