Right, because Yeager would have kept Koufax from throwing that perfect game.

So how could the Marlins have Yelich, Ozuna, Gordon, Stanton and Realmuto and suck?

When the franchise exists as an elaborate ponzi scheme, I'm not sure that the talent there ever felt actual pressure to win games, did they? (In the Loria years, I'm talking). Maybe that one year they spent the equivalent of a small country's GDP to bring in overpriced aging veterans and Ozzie Guillen's mouth to South Beach? And they crumpled within a week.

MVP Yelich delivers the first run with a single.

MVP Baez will win it with a 2-run homer.

How do you manage one of these games today? It's not a case of lose and go home, but the advantages of winning are huge. Count on the offense to win it for you and don't go too deep into the bullpen?

Baez just flew out to left on a 3-0 pitch up and in.

Cubs with no hits through four.

Is it just a baseball thing to have a playoff, when nearly every other sport would go head-to-head?

Like the NFL, whose list of tiebreakers is longer than the Constitution?

I sure hope your analogy ends there, seeing how the Vols have done since Fulmer left.

Who is the baseball manager version of Lane Kiffin?

Non-MVP Baez whiffs on 3-2 high heat to end the sixth, leaving two men walking to the dugout from the bases.
