And you are hiding from posts that prove you wrong.

But if he goes 0-for-his-next-15, you will damn sure care about his first 41 plate appearances, because that's exactly how you behave in these discussions.

He's trying to use Davidson to make his point. He's wrong, but that is what he is trying to do.

The Davidson skit is the troll job.

Just for you, how's this? It is either a failed argument or yet another example of Dickie being a troll. Neither reflects well on him.

Hey, y'all, remember when I set the world on fire in September '88!?

And I was ready to burn it up in '89 and beyond!

    And then I ... I ... well, OK, I had a decent career.

I agree with the bolded, but it isn't part of the debate.

Passan REALLY needs to stop talking to scouts about Ohtani. This is from his mea culpa column:
    1. Shohei Ohtani, you’ve earned the respects of plenty more doubters in front offices around the game. Sorry to report that scouts, executives, pitching coaches, analysts and pitchers already are workshopping a new approach to you.

I’d go hard up and in and work away with off-speed, same way I’d approach [Cody] Bellinger,” one official said. “These long guys usually aren’t super strong and they are super long, so bust them in and try to limit their path to the ball.

Last night's triple was from a pitch 97.6 MPH, up and in.

I'm envisioning that scout having a dirty mustache and gravelly voice.

The data shows that this is how teams are trying to pitch to him. Seems perfectly reasonable to report that. They have to try something. Seems like you'll accept nothing less than a Barry Bonds Memorial permanent white flag of surrender from the scouting community.

Nope, you're having a completely different argument, willfully ignoring the point.
