Tough one for Team White Flight.

Shocking. An Atlanta team blew another late lead.

You continue to scoff, but does the concept of wOBA not make intuitive sense to you?

I'm all for sabermetrics. However some arguments are not cut and dry.

You would have been better off asking if the .300 wOBA guy had 85 RBIs instead of 110.

15 RBIs more than a .350 wOBA 70-RBI would have probably provided an answer you sought.

But a guy driving in 110 runs, despite a .300 wOBA, is doing something plenty right as well.

Yes. What he is doing right is tricking his manager into putting him in a better spot in the lineup than he deserves.

    Which guy would you pick?

Maybe he is batting with more guys on base.

I’m sorry, but am I the only one that thinks it’s RBI and not RBIs. Other varieties annoy me, too.

7 players in all of baseball had 110 or more RBIs last season.

I would want a guy being one of the 7 best at driving in runs to be on a team that is loaded to the gills.

I know. And he produced in those at-bats when more guys were on base. That still counts.

I'm not building an entire team based on HR/RBIs/AVG.

But the question was who would I pick for the final slot between 2 guys, one with 70 RBIs and a .350 wOBA or one with 110 RBIs and .300 wOBA.

Sorry, but I'm not passing up 110 RBIs. The point of the game is to score runs. I want a guy who is one of the 7 best at driving in runs.

But you aren't getting 110 RBI. That's what the guy did previously. You are signing the guy who did that. But his 110 RBI aren't much of a predictor of what he'll do the following season.

Not to mention, it's still counted in NIAFL!

And I'm winning that category this week! Against the 1st-place team!
