    Doesn’t say when they’d walk and if it would affect the all star game or what mlb would do in the interim. Would the Players Union cross the picket lines?

    I wonder how we account for this. Especially in an age with when pitching would seem to have the advantage.

    Twice as many teams in 2021 as 1951. More games. Smaller ballparks. Improved conditioning. Livelier ball.

    What else?

    I'll add one thing which makes it even more interesting ... hitters in the 1950s weren't facing 100-mph cutters coming in from the bullpen. So the factors you mention must be very strong.
