Unfair question. If you live east of the Mohave, you can't NAME any other Angels.

Sure that looks ridiculous in hindsight, but projecting forward, was it that bad?

    This is from baseball-reference:

    2018 23 Los Angeles Angels $545,000 0.000
    2019 24 Los Angeles Angels $650,000 1.000 contract
    2021 26 Los Angeles Angels $3,000,000 3.000 contract
    2022 27 Los Angeles Angels $5,500,000 4.000

Who knew he'd be MVP in yr. 3? I think those first 2 yrs were MLB set mins.

The only rationale is that because of the pandemic and his injury, the uncertainty going forward "pressured" that undervalued deal. His first three seasons -- 18, 19 and the shortened 20 were the minimums leading into arbitration.

He initially filed at 3.3M and the Angels submitted 2.5M before they agreed on the two-year contract. So at worst he only would have made 500,000 for 2021 before going to arbitration this off-season

    Barring injury, Judge is MVP

The Padres look like ice cream cones in their alternate unis tonight. Embarrassingly bad.

Agreed, though some are still going to beat the drum for Ohtani. Meanwhile, Yordan Alvarez's fantastic season gets lost in the shuffle.

Reports are Castillo’s going to the Mariners for three of their top five prospects.

At least 2 of their top 4. Castillo needs to produce. Arbitration eligible before 2023 season; free agent after it.
