You’re right. I was actually thinking of that 2000 team that had the putrid pitching and was desperate enough to trade Richie Sexson and Marco Scutaro for Steve Woodard, Bob Wickman and Jason Bere. That team also won 90 games but was so bad at pitching I cannot consider it a good team.

As for the comeback, I had an almost supernatural experience. I was 17 years old and for obvious reasons turned the game off in the middle of it and went to bed. I randomly woke up around 11 or so — which I never did — and decided to flip on the radio to hear the postgame show… just as Tom Hamilton was screaming about the bases being loaded for Omar Vizquel.

I’ve never timed anything so well in my life.

If Tom Hamilton was screaming, it also might have been a grounder to short where the shortstop had to take two steps to his right before fielding the ball.

The next gut decision Roberts makes as a manager will be the first.

Here's Shildt's response. Pure word salad.

I'd like to see a little bit more of a sample size before we bitch and moan -- Opening Day wasn't "Opening Day" after they chopped the first part of the schedule. Opening Day became random game of the season -- No. 8 or whatever based on a team's original schedule.

Richardson's body language tells it all "THIS M------FER is talking pure BS" but someone above me told me I needed to stand here and listen to this BS.

Hmmm. I wonder if Wrigley's average $59 ticket price has anything to do with that. A $200 bill for a family of four is an exorbitant cost for a night of entertainment.

I knew he was in trouble as soon as he said he didn't expect any questions.

Didn't they also postpone opening day by several days because of the weather? Maybe people who were thinking of going on Friday couldn't go on Monday, or didn't want to go and freeze their ass off.

The Dodgers and Angels had a sellout on Sunday for an exhibition game at Anaheim.
