    Checking in.

Any .400 hitters in the big leagues? Any 56-game hitting streaks?

No, but there are plenty of Black players. Weren’t any of those the last time those two things happened.

Correlation? Causation? There's an interesting idea in there for a story.

The game has been completely overhauled in the last 25 years - and hasn't changed a bit.

I hope baseball goes in the direction Cleveland plays.

They don’t strike out, spray the ball all over the field so you can’t shift against them, run the bases with abandon and pitch well. Such a fun watch. They are the Dollar Tree version of that Royals team that won the World Series.

The Mets are playing much the same way this season. And apt comparison to the 2015 Royals.

The Dodgers entered play today with a 2.83 team ERA, by far the best in the majors. The Astros were next at 3.07.

This was without Dustin May, who returned to the majors for the first time since blowing out his elbow early last season. May loaded the bases with two outs in the first inning on a hit and two walks, then retired the next 13 batters before being pulled because he had reached the team's pitch limit for the game. He struck out nine in five shutout innings and looked damn near unhittable doing it.

No, but Paul Goldschmidt is low key in the convo for a triple crown this year. Leads the NL in batting average (.341), second in home runs (31, three behind Schwarber) and second in RBIs (100, two behind Alonso).

Joe Maddon needed analytics people to wrest control of his bullpen use away from him. He was one rain delay away from managing the Cubs out of their first World Series in 120 years.

I'm listening to Rutschman in the press box while the LL World Series is in a rain delay. I really hope this guy is as genuine and impressive in person as he is here.
