    I-85 doesn't start until Petersburg, Va., and it's quite a ways from Pennsyltucky to Petersburg. Just point of order.

    I liked Arte until the period when he tried to win the Winter Meetings with his out-of-nowhere signings. Hamilton, Wilson, Pujols, et. al. I don't think the GM (Reagins) even knew what was happening. I think Hamilton was the worst, a broken-down druggie.
    So the time is right, as he said in his announcement today. However, be careful what you wish for.

    Crazy that he bought the team for about $130M, and after a couple years of success, he's basically run it into the ground, on the field and off the field... and it's still worth $2 billion. It's never a bad time to own a Big Three professional sports team, basically.

    Contemporary owners of major pro sports teams made their money before they bought in.

    The Bill Veecks were long ago run out of town.
