There was a video of a couple in the stands at the Oakland Coliseum floating around a long time ago that was even more obvious.

Edit: I looked it up. That was Oakland. The video is still out there if you wish to find it.

There have also been issues of people having sex in the hotel rooms with the blinds open.

Shane McLanahan, who has been tailing off since the All-Star Break, might be taking an extended break.

I have a dark horse pick for AL champ: the Cleveland Guardians.
They just one-hit the Orioles with their third-best starter, Cal Quantrill, whose past 10 starts have been Cleveland wins. They'll kill off the Birds' fading playoff hopes in the next two (early) nights -- allowing no more than three total runs in the process -- and move into the postseason under the radar. They've got plenty of starting pitching, a lights-out closer and a propensity to put the ball in play. This is precisely the kind of team that can dispatch the cocky Blue Jays in short order.

You aren't kidding about putting the ball in play. As a team, they have struck out only 884 times this season, by far the fewest in the majors. The Nationals are next-best at 955. That said, they are 19th in the majors in runs scored and only the Tigers have hit fewer home runs.

The pitching is very good, eighth in the majors in ERA. Quantrill is on a tremendous roll. I'm not sure if it is realistic to expect that to continue, but their pitching and defense is going to keep them in most games.

Just heard on Chicago radio that Tony La Russa is on indefinite medical leave.

Were you expressing disgust over their actions, or providing an accurate description of them?

As much as I'd like to see Baltimore keep climbing, it might be a time for a reality check.

Batting average may be passe, but the O's lineup tonight tops out at .264 (Mullins). Odor has been at second all season, sitting below the Mendoza line.

Voth and Kremer have been a revelation lately ... but Lyles and Watkins, not so much. The bullpen has spent a lot of time propping up the starters.

And they have Ramon Urias batting cleanup the last two nights. What's up with that?

    EDIT: 429 feet later ...

There's hope for another day in Birdland.
Seriously, though, you're right. There is no way this is a playoff team. And it doesn't have to be in order for the season to have been a huge success. They'd be Exhibit A in evidence that playoff expansion has been excessive.
