Aaron Judge has hit the 13th-most homers in AL history but 8th in team history for a single season.

Mel Ott hit 512 HRs, but many into the Polo Ground's ultra short RF porch.

Mel Ott's home/road splits are curious. It's almost like he was two different players.

    At home (1,367 games), he hit .297, with 181 2B, 21 3B, 323 HR and 951 RBI.

    On the road (1,363 games), he hit .311, with 306 2B, 51 3B, 188 homers and 920 RBIs.

The Polo Grounds was built for cheap homers, but also for doubles and especially triples, with its huge power alleys. Yet he hit far more 2Bs and 3Bs on the road.

It's almost as if he was a dead pull hitter at home, and then reverted to his natural style on the road.

Ott was a great player either at home or on the road, as opposed to a guy (for example) like Todd Helton, who was outstanding at Coors Field but only good on the road.

Likely the end of the Orioles’ run. Brutal day at Camden Yards.

At least I got to see Bo Bichette hit three home runs?

And in both cases, we will wonder how great they could have been if they had been consistently healthy.

Mantle then went on to post OPS+ of 206 (and a 10.6 WAR), 195, 196 and 177 the following four seasons, even though he missed much of 1963 with a broken foot. He picked up 27+ WAR between his age 29 and 32 seasons.

    He was decent.
