    I thought Boggs would have been better because of his edge in OBP. I was wrong.

    Yankees Ryan Weber 6-1 175 drawing comparisons to Fred Beene 5-9 155 of 70s Yankees. Beene's contribution was as part of the trade that brought Chris Chambliss to NY.

    I instinctually resist change in baseball, but like all the other big changes lately, they will be strange and have bizarre implications at first and everyone will freak out - a game will end on a strikeout / walk with no pitch thrown. Then the players will adjust, it will rarely come up again, and it will have the desired effect. Look at the checks of pitcher for foreign substances. Scherzer dropped his pants and everyone was screaming how baseball looked ridiculous, and now no one cares. Same as DH in the NL, the WC, the 3 batter minimum, etc.
