I was covering the Dodgers and was at that game. Somebody tracked down Lee at a bar near the stadium. He was sitting there in uniform watching the game on TV.

That would've been a great photo.

Given all of the attention Hard Knocks gets and other behind the scenes type sports shows that have been done - I think a show following a team "playing out the string" in September would be some interesting TV. You see the Sept. 1 call-ups getting their first taste of The Show, the vet wondering if he'll be back, the guy still trying to put up numbers. The Angels would be a fascinating subject with Trout, Ohtani starting to look elsewhere, the team on the market. The interim manager and coaches wondering where they'll be next year - not to mention seeing how they react when they are playing team still playing for something in a pennant chase.

Harris said he couldn’t talk about the Tigers farm system because it would be the Giants’ perspective
    I wonder what that is

Saying the quiet part out loud: "A complete and utter failure to develop major league-ready players for decades."

He certainly talked a great game today. We'll have to see if he can back it up. His three key points:

    1. Pursue, acquire and develop young talent.
    2. Give each player the best opportunity to optimize their talents.
    3. DOMINATE THE STRIKE ZONE on both sides of the ball.

I'm guessing all those guys pressing to reach 20 walks this season ought to have a Plan B in place next spring. Robbie Grossman, who's been gone since the trade deadline, still leads the team in walks with 38. Baddoo, Schoop, both Castros, and Reyes are all in the mid- to low-teens.

Good idea, but there are no more September call ups. Out with the last CBA.

So phone-carrying Castro homers for Pittsburgh; who will be the first MLBer to take a selfie as the ball flies out?

Has anyone in sports bet on themselves like
Judge and followed through with not just a career year, but a generational year.

Generational may not be enough to describe it. If we assume he's not on any PEDs, it's worth a couple of generations.
There are recent examples of NFL quarterbacks who had monster seasons and turned them into eye-popping contracts, but no football stat has the allure of ≥ 60 homers.
