    Worth noting that the Pirates have not sold out some playoff game through the years.

    Do we do separate threads for MLB regular season and postseason/ World Series?

    The managerial merry-go-round would fit right into 2022-23 Hot Stove.

    True, but why is that relevant to the discussion? I can see it, but I am curious about your reasoning.

    He shits on everything. It’s his thing. He’s a dense, bitter ball of negativity.

    I wouldn’t say the Mets stumbled as much as the Braves were crazy good since June (21-6 in june, 10 games over in july, and 36-18 in august/september). Its not like the Mets finished August and September with a .500 record over that time. (They were 34-22). Either way, a pretty good choice for either showalter or Snitker, but the braves did win the World Series last year, so maybe they were a little more “expected.’’ And if Buck gets penalized for “stumbling’’ (not stumbling) down the stretch, shouldn’t snitker be penalized for his “stumbling’’ out of the gate in April/May (23-27)

    Perhaps, but I'd still like to hear his take on why possible poor attendance in playoff games is relevant to the discussion.

    How awesome is this, a whole day of baseball on a lovely October Friday in advance of a three-day weekend.

    First time the Mets and Padres have played in the playoffs.

    Padres are 13-27 all-time in the playoffs.

    Three pitches into the first game, and I already have a question.

    One of the Cleveland infielders was shown listening in to the PitchCast, whatever it's called, that says what pitch is going to be thrown.

    Do you really want your infielders to know that? I would think an intelligent hitter would notice any change in positioning predicated by the upcoming pitch, and have a good idea of what the pitch was going to be.

    @outofplace -

    I am trying to find an analysis of his trades from 1986-88 that I read months ago, it was really well done.

    He made a lot of splashes and collected a lot of athletes but left the team pretty thin in other areas, including shortstop and bullpen, maybe mid-rotation too.

    And he was reported to be near impossible to work with so he didn't last long in Pittsburgh or the Bronx, either.
