Destined for the role from the moment his parents named him.

That number is as bogus as a stat coming out of the Trump White House.

I moved away from Pittsburgh about 18 years ago, before I joined this site, but it was home for most of my life before that.

Living in the midwest, a combined income of somewhere in the $200,000 a year neighborhood will get you and your family of four in the stadium 2-3 times a season. Below that and you're going to go a lot less if at all. The lowest priced tickets for playoff games in Cleveland were $83. And you don't get to see the replays during reviews, it's cold, damp, etc. I was stunned they sold them all after not being able to sell much cheaper ($15-20 for some) versions during the season.

A friend who is an upper-level exec for UPS or Fedex (can't remember which) has eight season tickets to the Guardians*, 4 each for the Cavs and Browns. By quick calculation, he spends between $40k and $45k just for regular-season tickets (and at least three grand more for parking, which says nothing of beer, etc.). He sells a lot of them through social media for face value, but probably eats a lot of them. He probably makes $250k a year, kids are all out of the house, etc. Wife has a job, too.

Many people who frequent this site have no concept of how much money people make. Many of my friends are in sales and have worked their way up to management positions and clear a quarter-mil a year easily, and don't work that much. Same with a lot of IT guys -- huge houses and cars, pools, fancy vacations; they can't spend it fast enough. There are a lot of people doing very well and professional sports are for them, not us.

*Guardians tickets each come with $2 to spend at the concession stand, so on dollar dog night, that's gold!*

If this means HBO is getting back into sports documentaries, I’m all for it.

Chicago sports talk wants Ozzie for the White Sox job. That would be hilarious.

Got the email from the Phillies this afternoon that I was selected in the ticket lottery and snagged two SRO for game four.

What's the price, if you don't mind me asking?

Shockingly not awful and not great. $130 each for standing room.
