I hear it all the time. But why? What specifically has the guy done to make people dislike him?

Plenty of people have. That's not the issue. He's a dill-weed who happens to have turned down the Giants and is a general tool.

 

Harper is a slightly self-centered guy who knows he’s the best and acts like it; he likely is nothing more than laser focused on his goal of being the best and doesn’t suffer those he perceives as fools lightly. But he’s not some criminal or abuser, so by that standard, I’ll take him on my team if he helps us win. It’s not that hard.

 

Being good and knowing you’re good is bad.

 

Point taken. I'd submit that it's a rare elite athlete who does not have that knowledge.

Harper was raised to be a great baseball player,like Todd Marinovich was raised to be a great football player. Expecting world-class self-awareness might be asking a bit much

Fuckin Papelbon. It’s a coin flip which moron out of the bullpen I hated more, him or Antonio Bastardo. At least Papelbon attempted to be a funny troll. Bastardo had the distinction of getting suspended for taking PEDs and still being fucking terrible.
