I love National League honks still trying to get rid of the DH.

I do think the pitch clock will help. But even I, a huge baseball fan, will admit I felt the season -- specifically the postseason -- lasted a week too long.

 

… and the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap …

 

Had to check and make sure this was the 2022 MLB thread, and not the 1957 MLB thread.

 

All we need are more scoreboards just like this. And a lot of ads for beer, sausage and convertibles.

I must point out that weekday day games in the summer have become an MLB commonplace and are extremely popular with solid attendance. The reason for World Series ratings decline is obvious. The playoffs are too damn long. My team was in them all the way and by Game Five of the Series I was seriously burnt out. Imagine how casual viewers or even devout fans with no dog in the fight felt.
