It's real early, but if you can start jumping on White Sox-Royals, the reward could be worth it.

Chicago's Dylan Cease is absolutely painting black, in complete control, and has retired the first 12 Royals. Extremely impressive.

EDIT: It's going to be a damn shame if Olivares' 50-foot dribbler in the sixth proves to be the only thing between Cease and a no-hitter.

You can bet La Russa is thankful for it. Now he doesn't have to stew over pulling a guy from a no-hitter.

Doesn't have to fret over pulling him out of a shutout, either.

No worry anymore. He's lost it a little bit and Merrifield just had an RBI single.

But damn, Cease throws a beautiful 12-6 knuckle curve.

You want a conversation about how the teams are perceived? Buster Posey was never traded. End of conversation.

This is a classic baseball "fight."
    - lots of jawing and posturing, with the principals less interested in actually fighting than others.
    - benches empty, catcher boxes out hitter, hitter's teammate checks catcher hard.
    - The two "Fighty-est" guys on each team, had nothing to do with the initial beef.
    - bullpens empty but always seem to stay on the outside of things.
    - Coach grabs opposing teams best player to "protect them" and perhaps accidentally causes injury in some cases.
    - not sure I saw a single punch thrown.

Sunday, he got a bases-loaded walk to bring in the go-ahead run in a tie game. He has to be the hottest player in baseball. I read a little about his approach but I didn't understand the walk. He is looking for a pitch in a specific place and won't swing until he gets it. On the walk, it was about the ninth pitch of the at-bat, full count, he said he was not going to swing, regardless of location. I didn't get that.
Last night, he also had a walk. He flied to right in his last at-bat, needing a single for the cycle.
