I know we have a travel thread but given this is a baseball specific request I figured it could go here: my buddy and I are resuming our dad and lad baseball road trip weekend in August with a trip to Cincinnati (it's close enough to Toronto and we've never been there). We are looking at staying in Covington and have no interest in driving to GABP. I see you can walk, is that really a viable option?

We are going to two games and will have a day to tool around, any recommendations on stuff to do in Cincinnati or Covington - restaurants, bars, barbecue joints - all appreciated. Thanks, I will hang up and listen.

Does anyone else think the Steinbrenner Family is more politically aligned with desantis than sanity? And I always thought trump’s role model was George Steinbrenner.

Always liked Montgomery Inn Ribs, not far from the stadium. Yeah, you can walk from Covington but that's a long damn bridge. Uber or Lyft.

I decided to look if Mike Fink’s on the river was still open. Sadly, no.

Trip Wins aren’t as important as VORP (Vacation Over Results Productivity)

It’s a 20-to-30 minute walk from the banks of the Ohio to GABP, so it depends on how mobile everyone in your group is.

I think the Angels might need to borrow Pacino for that pregame speech.

Apropos of nothing, an underrated baseball-related funny thing is the automated closed captioning on MLB.TV’s condensed games and highlights.

Their algorithm is clearly phonetic and hilarity ensues when an unfamiliar surname comes up or a PBP man mumbles or slurs what they’re saying.

To wit, when Victor Caratini hit a home run into the basket at Wrigley last week, the CC tabbed him “Victor Karate”.

I will never not call him Victor Karate from this day forward.

Automated closed captioning is an endless source of comedy gold.
