No, other than last I heard the mayor told them not to count on any government money.

Nashville is the new Tampa Bay. How many teams used TB before they got the Rays? White Sox and Giants for sure. The interference on the Giants deal by MLB was so bad they HAD to give them an expansion franchise or face a lawsuit.

After they allocated a billion to the upgrades of the Titans stadium, right? Guess there was none left.

Rookies of the Year: Skenes and Gil.

I respect what Merrill did down the stretch, but it had to be Skenes.

And I don't really mind Gil's selection, either. I love Cowser's future, but I have trouble connecting a .242 average with a RoY award.

I don't feel too strongly one way or the other, but you could say the same thing about a pair of rookie pitchers winning the award w/o qualifying for the ERA title.

Merrill played in 156 games and selected for the mid-season "classic."
Skenes was good, no doubt, but Merrill's overall body of work was better.

I was going to agree with you -- Merrill moved to center field and contributed to a pennant contender -- but Skenes started the All-Star Game for the NL. And despite only pitching 133 innings, he went 11-3, 1.96 with 170 whiffs. Both very deserving.

Trade them for each other — who says no?

    There’s your answer.

    (Pirates say no.)

Vogt and Murphy good choices for Managers of the Year.

Keith Law gave a third-place vote to Oliver Marmol. WTF?
