I’m surprised they didn’t defer his entire salary until death.

 

Was kind of hoping for Hernandez as a sneaky Orioles guy. Oh well.

 

Assuming Betts remains in the infield, that puts Hernandez in the outfield with Conforto and who? Edman ended up there most of the post season, but is he a guy you have to start every day? Conforto hasn't reached 500 plate appearances since 2019. I like Pages, but he still hasn't earned an every-day role. Hernandez was the only steady presence out there all season, so it makes sense that they would keep him.

 

The winners of the Corbin Burnes sweepstakes are, as we all expected, the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Good for Burnes. That's home for him. Can't really compete with that. Particularly with his family situation, which includes two infant twins.

 

Was hoping Burnes would stay in the AL, but good for him.

 

Yankees paid him $14 million last year. I’m like, they couldn’t come up with an extra million in Hal’s couch cushions to pay him?

Then again, Torres probably needed a change in scenery.

 

Bummed, but we knew what we were getting into as Os fans when he came over in the trade. Wish him the best.
