Heyward really smoked that one. Never a doubt, Detroit!

    Cheese and rice.

I'm not really sure what Detroit is going to do for pitching for any of these upcoming games, but at least we're not getting skunked.

That was a McCovey ball, a matter that he should be familiar with because I'm fairly certain he played against Stretch.

During the 1989 World Series, delayed by the Loma Prieta earthquake, the Giants came up with a re-edited version of that ninth inning where McCovey's liner goes over the head of Kubek and San Francisco wins in 1962.

Sean McDonough should sue Wayne Randazzo for sounding too much like him. I almost turned off Royals-Orioles.

AB of the game coming up with Tony Taters, good or bad.

It’s wild after all these years past the CBS days to hear McDonough doing baseball again.

I keep waiting for him to say Terry Pendleton is at third base.

Corbin Burnes might have just thrown his final pitch for Baltimore.

If so, he lived up to ace status. It helped that he realized he had a problem with baserunners by September.

I don't have any expectations for the Mets in the playoffs. The Brewers have owned them this season and are a great, likable team. And this was an unsaid but clear rebuild/payroll shedding season for the Mets.

But I do like the signs of a good front office. Much of fanbase wanted to trade for former Met Michael Conforto. But Stearns traded for Jesse Winker, who was a better fit.

Winker hit a two-run triple to tie the opener in the 2nd inning, and he's a pest. The proverbial guy you love if he's on your team and hate if he's not.

Still flinch because he did the "Problem with the snap" game in Ann Arbor.
