Ralph Kiner was another, with the Mets. He's in their hall of fame and never played for them.

Jason Benetti is an American treasure. His replacement was going to have a tough time because of comparisons, but said replacement is trying so hard to be a homer that he sounds as if he's parroting Trumpist talking points on Fox News.

I can find you a YouTube video of paint drying that might be more watchable than Chisox games.

Cedric Mullins is coming perilously close to losing a spot on the Baltimore roster. Drastic fall for a former All-Star. He's slashing .119/.159/.155 in his last 30 games.

It’s brutal. He still saves a run here or there defensively, but he’s completely lost at the plate. Bradish locating way better today than last Saturday. He was at 70-plus pitches at the end of three last week, at 56 thru four today.

Diaz led off the bottom of the first with an infield single, but Bradish hasn't allowed a ball out of the infield in five innings. Rays are not squaring up on anything.

Tampa Bay just hit its first ball out of the infield with two out in the ninth.

And although Bradish and Coulombe were nails, Tampa Bay had a lot to do with that. Not a lot of authoritative swings there.

The Rays look disinterested. But that’s fine by me. 41-22.

Just 10 teams have winning records so far in all of baseball. Three are in the AL Central. The whole of the NL has four.

Watching the Royals tee off on the previously sterling Mariners rotation the past couple days has been impressive. KC can hit and other than Perez, their lineup has a lot of speed.

And of course, the Mariner hitters blew their wad in Friday's first inning and then returned to their striking-out ways.

And how bout those White Sox, on a two-game winning streak!

As BYH and others have noted, it's hard to lose 120 games in a season. Even for an absolutely horrible team.
