First no-no of the year. Looks like only blemish was two walks to the same hitter. 105 pitches with 7ks and 2 walks is dealing

Wired: Jordan Westburg walk-off home run
Tired: The Craig Kimbrel experience already appears to be one that I'm going to hate all year

Cano ends up in that closer role sooner than later. That Baltimore team is too good to be subpar at that spot.

Were you here for my ranting about Kimbrel during last year's playoffs? Made me look like Nostradamus.

I was. The Os' closing options weren't great considering they needed a one-year stopgap with Bautista presumably back for 2025. It's a small sample size so I'll give it a little more time, but he was struggling hard to find the strike zone last night.

He blew so many damned saves down the stretch last year as well. I knew they weren't catching the Braves regardless, but that team could have won a good 97-99 games instead of barely getting to 90. There must be a federal ordinance that the Phillies are required to have one pitcher that completely irritates me. Last year, it was Kimbrel. Before that, it was Hector Neris (who seems to have gotten right in Houston). Before THAT, it was Papelbon and Antonio Bastardo.

Kimbrel -- and let's not confuse him with 2012 Craig Kimbrel -- just spends SO much time down in the count, you spend all your time waiting for the shoe to drop.

Travis Bazzana will be a top-5 draft pick and has a shot to be the first Australian star in MLB. He hit a 452-foot bomb last night.
