MLB '24 Regular Season Thread

I'm good with keeping Snell. He's a stud (at least now) and its fun seeing a stud take the mound for the Giants every 5 days. If he walks, so what? The Giants didn't really give up anything to get him (3rd rd pick, oh well). At least we get to see Webb/Snell/Ray/Harrison/Birdsong rotation, which is pretty damn good (on paper).

THE METS TRADE FOR PAUL BLACKBURN! (Who is Paul Blackburn?)

Seems to be a 4-5 starter with some upside. I think getting Winker was a good move. Perhaps this one will be too. Gotta have as many arms as possible.

I think Stearns has been a solid GM thus far.

 

Truth be told. I’m kinda surprised Snell hasn’t been dealt yet.
Are people spooked about his contract?

 

Flaherty to the Dodgers but for whom?

EDIT EDIT: Dodgers give up C/1B Thayron Liranzo, who played in the Futures Game, and their AAA shortstop (who could easily be better than Javy Baez). Giants trade AA reliever Eric Silva.

 

That's the question.

In the meantime, the Orioles picked up Eloy Jimenez.

 

This does not sit well for the rest of the NL.

 

I'll reserve judgment on Jack Flaherty's effectiveness in a pennant race.
