Snell no hitter and Giants arms throw back to back shutouts. Damn impressive and I am so glad I was wrong!

Blake Snell: I pitch the ninth inning and all the batters makes outs all the same, all right all right all right.

First win of the season for Snell. Every other game, he was awful, couldn’t get a lead or bullpen blew it.

So when Snell opts out at the end of the year, who over pays for him? Or more to the point, who pays what Boris wants thinking they’re going to nail down October?

    That's what I thought.
But I’m happy to have been wrong.

Saw the Mariners hit four homers tonight and pound the Phillies 10-2. Grand slam for Turker, 460-foot upper deck bomb for Raley. Then a fabulous post-game drone show. Worth fighting four hours of I-5 traffic. Back home tomorrow morning in time to work our Fireworks Night, when Micro sings Take Me Out to the Ballgame. It's a trip.

When your top pitcher is 1-3 in August after 11 starts - that's the kind of year the Giants are having. I don't know if the GM keeps the gig or not. Seems like they have a ton of stop-gap players in their line-up. And their minor league system isn't know for developing position players.

Glad to see Mayo is up, and that Holliday got a couple of knocks last night. Haven't been able to watch the last two nights. Soto, gross. Eflin vs. Cantillo and his 8.10 ERA tonight. Will be very concerned if the O's can't find a way to scratch one out this evening.

The stop gap players is what’s boring. The epitome is Yaz, I was tired of seeing him go 4-3, but actually his OPS is up to .750+ and he’s a great RF but it’s dull.
