Big Guardians-Twins series coming up this weekend. And I never would have thought we would have had a three-way race in the NL West in mid-August, but damn if the Dodgers didn't let the Padres and Diamondbacks back into it.

No Mookie had to take a toll sometime.

At current pace, nobody will win 85. Would be the first normal season since the reformation -- I didn't look before 1994 -- that an AL division failed to produce an 85-game winner.
But here's the amazing factoid: If current winning percentages hold, the AL Central, albatrossed by the 39-win White Sox, will win 32 more games (390) than it won last year. The reason: a projected 33-win improvement by the Royals will more than make up for the Sox, who didn't have all that far to fall after a 61-win 2023.

And Mookie's got company. That injured list is something.
In a way, the entire season has been defined by injuries to what seems like an unusual extent: Yankees without Stanton; Orioles with one starting pitcher who has escaped the IL; Astros; Braves without Acuna; and so forth.

No Mookie and that pitching staff has been beat up and leading oil. I keep waiting for the Padres to return to form but it isn’t happening. D-Backs are proving last year wasn’t a fluke and they just needed a hot minute to get going.

Meanwhile Giants have won 10 of the last 13, are finally above.500 again and they are still trailing with little hope of getting into the playoffs. And the Rockies are Rockie’ing.

“We’re going to lose 122 games. What should we do?”

“Hire the most attractive man we can.”

The setup for Braves-Reds at Bristol Motor Speedway. It will make some of the NHL Winter Classic seats seems like they are close to the action.

The most fake thing in that foto is the number of fans. Really - i might go if there were cars racing around while the game was going.

So the White Sox know they are going to suck this year - but the manager was fired because they sucked too much? If you are going to tank, own it. Reward it. Don't fire a guy for committing to the bit.

So the Nashville Stars of MLB won’t be playing the Braves? I’m shocked. Because I was told that Nashville was such a hot town that it was going to be the home of the relocated Baltimore Orioles by that point.

I thought the Rays would get there first.

If the Royals bullpen doesn’t go down in history for being the worst ever, it’s sure in the running.
    It’s embarrassing.
