They just need to get into the sixth to turn it over to that bullpen. In the playoffs they’ll only need to go four and try to Francona in ’16 their way through.

Interesting that only one of the guys on the "fewest games" list made it to 500. Stanton could still get there, of course, but he's got some work to do.

This is good stuff. Barry Bonds and Greg Maddux dissect one of their at-bats against each other from 1998.

I am so happy that the Giants have helped the Braves right the ship. When playoff contenders are getting better, can count on a Farhan team to stay consistently meh. 14-12 in the second half to improve from possible sellers to meh.

Noe back to your originally scheduled discussions already in progress.

Two years ago, Walker Buehler and Julio Urias were on track to sign multimillion dollar contracts as free agents. Now Buehler will likely have to settle for a one-year make-good deal next season and Urias will never pitch in the Majors again because of his domestic violence issues.

With Yaz mopping up for the [bluefont] best rotation in baseball [/bluefont]. Thank goodness our power was out for all of this one.

Happy for that. More importantly, I thought Dean Kremer needed to pitch like his career was on the line last night, and he did. Much needed start. Sets up Eflin-Burnes-Suarez for the first three games of the Boston series. Suarez seems to have pulled himself out of his unhappy place. Two very good starts in a row.

It was a situation where I spent six innings waiting for the other shoe to drop ... and it never did.

Nah, Snell laid that to rest two weeks ago.
