MLB '24 Regular Season Thread

Happy anniversary to another site legend.

 

The last time the Braves had this many injuries, they won the whole fucking thing. But this will be hard to overcome.

 

Getting lost on the way to the stadium always reminds me of Bill (Spaceman) Lee’s first book, when he talks about getting lost on his first trip to Fenway.

Lee wrote that he kept going around the stadium, where he could see the lights, but couldn’t find the exit. Lee said at one point, he thought he’d died, and was in some sort of hell where he was sentenced to drive around the ballpark for all of eternity. Then Lee said he decided to adjust to his environment, surrendered himself to Boston and became caught in its spiritual flow.

And he also stopped and asked for directions.

That book was one of my favorites as a teen.

 

This is the Angels' way to affect the pennant race ... hurt the other team. But, alas, the Angels have had a bunch of injuries too, including broken hands because of HBPs. Luke Williams, the guy who replaced Riley, made three outstanding defensive plays in what was a close ballgame.

 

Cheatstros get a walkoff hr in their stupid Space City unis in their stupid ballpark with a stupid train in front of their stupid fans.

 

I just saw some guy from the Guardians just got put on the IL with a fractured fingernail.
Ouch.

 

Eflin to the IL. This season is fucking cursed. Goddamnit.

 

Corbin Burnes should be avoiding cracks in the sidewalk.

I’d like to find the scumbag that’s trying to sell these.

 

For the first time in my 49 years on this planet, I find myself hoping the Yankees win.
If the Royals can beat the Angels and the Yankees win, KC is within 1 1/2.
That is astounding to me.
