The second baseman went to cover second, for no apparent reason. He shoulda been covering first. I hope the kid can recover from this mistake.

Right field should have backed up too. The runner should have been held to third. Just dumb mistakes.

Kids usually recover quick but it still sucks.

The one thing I will remember is that the Florida kids, before jumping into a dogpile, before hoisting the banner, the FIRST thing they did was run over to their Chinese counterparts and console them.

Did. Not. Watch. One pitch of the LLWS.

I didn't watch one pitch until today.

For about 10 years, one of my oldest friends and I took a day and made the trip up there. He died two years ago from COVID, and I don't have the urge to battle the crowds myself.

My objection is with the four-letter network.
Hope you will accept my condolences. RIP your true friend.

RIP, Don Wert. Underrated third baseman for the 1968 Tigers. Had the game-winning hit in the pennant clincher and his two hits in the World Serie came off Bob Gibson. Was part of the trade that sent Denny McLain to the Senators for Joe Coleman, Eddie Brinkman and Aurelio Rodriguez.

The Coyote was also unique in that his last name can be spelled with consecutive keys on a standard typewriter.

Great big huge 4-game set in Cleveland starts with DH today.

LLWS means summer is over. Didn't realize the US has lost the final more than they've won it. Says a lot that the play was so "automatic" for the pitcher that just threw to first. Don't know why the 2B went where he did.

The 2B done messed up, that's for sure. But that bunt ... you just can't do it any better than that, either.
