The Rockies have trailed in all 30 of their games (7-23).

To be fair, before the most recent start, his last four starts the Nats scored 1, 2, 1, 0 runs. Granted they were against good to very good teams but he could have given you four quality starts and still not won any of those games.

They only have one option at Triple A -- the other four in the rotation have ERAs of 8.44, 7.88, 5.19 and 4.94

I didn't realize Corbin was in the last year of his contract though. Maybe they just try to ride it out to see if he can get hot and flip him by the deadline?

After his grandfather visited him in the clubhouse this morning. Damn, I love this game.

Yeah, hold off on that TJ surgery for Kyle Bradish.

But the umpire might have just cost him a W ... called two bad balls on Judge as Bradish was reaching his pitch count. Hyde had to pull him after 4 2/3.

I think the Yankees need their own "meh" category. They're 20-13, but 10-11 since a 10-2 start. All the flaws that were there last year are still there. They'll make the playoffs, but they don't strike me as a legit contender at the moment. Maybe Cole comes back strong and Cashman actually fucking does something at the deadline. We'll see.

I'd also say the Brewers are slightly surprisingly good (they've really done a good job building a culture there), the Guardians are very surprisingly good (have to think Francona would have stuck around another year if he thought they had a shot at 90-plus wins) and the Mets are plucky. Their rotation is smoke and mirrors and they're overusing the bullpen and all the veterans in the lineup have been terrible, yet they're 16-9 after opening 0-5 and being six outs away from a no-hitter that would have dropped them to 0-6. They've got three walk-off wins, which is the difference between 13-18 and 16-13. That's plucky!

Good lineups have a hitter or two that spark feelings of impending doom within the opponent. Soto and Judge (who will heat up) do that ... but in between them, nothing really concerns a decent pitcher. Never would have guessed that Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton in that lineup would be met with a ho-hum, but their declines are visually evident with every at-bat.

Fair point on overuse of the bullpen. They finally got a couple of starters into the 8th inning last week after everyone seemingly needing 110 pitches to get through 5 innings most of the month. Which needs to happen a lot more. But outside of Houser, I think the rotation has been good rather than smoke and mirrors. Though, I don't expect Sevy to be able to maintain what he's been doing.

The rotation looks even better if Senga gets back heathy around Memorial Day. And their top prospect gets his first start Saturday.

Now will sit back and watch the implosion.
