    Rich Hill, too!

Pirates surely would have done it. But the walk means they don't have to be (rightly) criticized for it.

Rays about to have the opportunity to do so.

Are Pirates fans so jaded that they want to go full send on Skenes because they figure he’ll never make it to a second contract in Pittsburgh?

I'm afraid TJS comes before that second contract.

Don't they have reason to be jaded? Shottie has a point. I am certain that some of them have concerns about his arm holding up to that velocity. Let's say he does hold up and he is the real deal. The best that can happen is the Pirates trying to build a contender around Skenes, Jones, and a few other key guys. Does that seem likely given their history? The more likely outcome is they continue to be cheap, never put in the resources to win while they have guys like Skenes, and then either trade him for prospects or let him walk as a free agent to get that second contract.

I tend to agree. Wonder if the ruling was Bellinger jarred the ball out. Thought the catcher held it long enough, though.

The catcher had transferred the ball to his bare hand before it was knocked out. I have to think that was long enough.

Regardless, Shota and Falter was an enjoyable watch. Kind of an extra treat after Skenes' performance Friday.

I take back what I said a couple of weeks ago. The Mets fucking suck. Again.

Rock bottom came early this year!
