If he had breezed through the seventh he may have had a chance. Lost command of the sinker a bit. Right call, especially now that Cowser added some insurance

Yeah, Hyde absolutely had to do that. I can't even raise the question. (Although 10 years ago, I sure as hell would have tried.)

When teams come poking around the junkyard known as the Chicago White Sox looking for spare parts in a couple months, I hope the team isn't stupid enough to trade away Garrett Crochet. He's one of the few, perhaps the only, bright spots so far this season, and threw six strong innings in Baltimore today. Just made one mistake to Rutschman, and struck out 11 Orioles.

Honestly, it's almost to the point where an over/under needs to be set on the number of times the White Sox are no-hit this season. I'll start the wagering at 4.5.

    From the Braves:

OF Ronald Acuña Jr. tonight underwent an MRI that revealed a complete tear of the ACL in his left knee. He is set to undergo surgery at a date yet to be determined and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season.

Damn, as much as I detest the Braves, Acuna is so fun to watch. Another major injury to one of the most exciting players in the game. That really sucks.

“Ronald Acuna,” Jim Roach said. “Full brother of Luisangel.”

Exactly. For whatever reason, I see very little of the Braves. But Acuna is obviously a must-see ballplayer. Not a good loss for the game overall.
