MLB Newspaper Coverage Help

    Doesn't the Baseball America Almanac list what papers cover each team and list the beat writers, too?

    Not sure, but what I have found it is that nearly every media guide lists TV and Radio outlets and NO newspapers.

    Giants: SJ Mercury, SF Chronicle
    Diamondbacks: AZ Republic
    Rockies: Denver Post

    AL West

    A's: SF Chronicle, mlb.com
    Angels: LA Times
    Rangers: T.R. Sullivan on mlb.com, Dallas Morning News
    Mariners: Seattle Times

    Here in Toronto I'll go with the Sun for the best coverage of the Jays (Bob Elliott's Sunday columns are always full of good stuff), but Richard Griffin of the Star and Jeff Blair of the Globe are must reads for me too.

    Simple: mlb.com for each team and The Sporting News.

    You'll be a NASCAR fan by May.

    Rich Griffin lost me when he was pumping Expos press notes so full of jokes that he had a lot of facts wrong. Blair is OK.

    Unfortunately, that site misses a few. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review may be a metro, but the Beaver County Times has better Pirates coverage despite the smaller travel budget.

    Only available paper for the Astros is the Houston Chronicle.
