Donnelly. I guess he wouldn't be a good "air-traffic controller" in the eyes of Joe Morgan.

He could be a good comptroller, though.

Dodgers lefty reliever Joe Bemiel cuts his hand yesterday and is unavailable for series.

My question is: Why would any sane pitcher pick up a device with the capability of inflicting damage, so close to the playoffs? At least Costanza was pushed into picking up that hot iron.

Am I deaf or did Willie Randolph just say he isn't concerned about the pitching situation because the mets have battled through adversity this season? Haven't they been in first all but one day? Hasn't it been smooth sailing?

I know Steve Garvey spread more seed than a tilling machine, but the Dodgers shoulda retired No. 6.

How many people thought Minnesota would lose the first two games? That's perhaps the most shocking thing this season.

Still, it wouldn't surprise me to see Santana pitch Game 5 because we are talking about the Chokeland A's.

They ran away with the East but I wouldn't say it's been smooth sailing. They've had a ton of injuries to their pitching staff. 13 or 14 guys have started games for them this year. That's the adversity he's talking about.

Joe Morgan is really, REALLY bad today.

Gary Thorne: "In a five-game series, it's really important to get that first game."
Morgan: "Yes, especially in a five-game series."

DOES HE LISTEN TO WHOEVER HE'S WORKING WITH."

He also said, after J.D. Drew took a third strike: "In the postseason, every pitch is important. If that's ball four, it's first and second." As opposed to the regular season?

Oh, and Thorne just called a home run for Shawn Green when it was Cliff Floyd.

I asked a Dodgers fan about retired numbers in the last month, and he said except for Jim Gilliam, every other Dodger who had their number retired was in the Hall of Fame. I think with Jim Gilliam, it was a case where he was a long-time player and coach and he died during one of the seasons where the Dodgers went to the World Series, so maybe that was a reason his number was retired.

Yeah, all this was after he introduced the Dodgers starting pitcher as "Kevin Lowe." Not only do they sound retarded, the East Coast bias is absolutely incredible.

And this is different from any other game he calls because ... ?

Seriously, it's like watching a game on the Mets TV network. Thorne and Phillips might as well be wearing Mets hats.

Sadly, XM is not offering the Dodgers radio broadcast today.
