To be honest, the extent of my knowledge of Todd Jones consists of his nearly singlehandedly wrecking the Phillies' 2004 season. Don't know what he's done this year, but considering the ass he sucked in 04, I can't believe a World Series contender has him closing.

Do the Yankees not have ANYONE they can count on to steal a base in the 9th inning?

I haven't watched a ton of tigers either, but I'd rather have Zumaya, who can pitch multiple innings, or come out and put out fires, rather than be restricted to the Proven Closer(tm) role.

It's clear who is the better pitcher.

Good job Tigers. Your reward: The Big Backache and Jaret Wright.

Jones is 38 years old, so I can't imagine he has much longer. Maybe Zumaya is their closer of the future.

Hershiser: "I do NOT like the body language of Jeff Weaver right now. He is begging for pitches instead of being a bulldog out there ..."

From most announcers, using your own nickname is absolute hubris, but in this situation and from the guy who said it, it was entirely approppriate.

    Outstanding. :) :D ;D

(Although I would give anything to hear firejoemorgan use a chicken-wing reference about somebody ... that would be worth an entire season's worth of putting up with his crap.)

Berman and Hershiser keep referring to Game 1 "yesterday." What, are they living in a time warp? And have I missed the first "Hotel California" reference?

Good win for the Tigers. A-Rod was HORRIBLE (shock of shocks).

I'm waiting for Edmonds to take a swing and his head crack like an eggshell.

The Yankees had 3-batters go 0-4, Sheffield, A-Rod and Cano. The only one anyone will remember is A-Rod.

The Yankees had 4-opportunities with runners in scoring position in which they failed to capitalize. The batters were Sheffield, A-Rod, Jeter and Cano. The only one anyone will remember is A-Rod.

Nice day for A- Rod 4 AB 3K's and 3 LOB

Another good example of A-rods inability to perform in big moments.

I know some of you thinks its bunk but the eyes don't lie.
