And just like that, Boom proves me right.

Nobody will get on Sheffield's case.
Nobody will get on Cano's case.
Nobody will get on Mussina's case.

Nope. This game was lost because of A-Rod!

Good point on having Zumaya for when it's important, and not just the 9th inning.

I'm going to agree on the Cano theory. He had chances with guys on, didn't deliver.

JBHE, I don't put the blame on Cano. I'm only pointing at that there were several points at which the Yankees had runners on second base. Only 1-time did anyone come through. All others failed, yet only one of those that failed will be discussed. And it will be discussed at great length.

    Ok

Sheffield has a World Series to his name. Mussina gave up four runs with his offense that should be a guaranteed victory and Cano is what? 14 years old in his first game.

But yeah...there's no reason to single out A-Rod, it's not like he's expected to be a big star in this lineup.

It's worked just fine this season. Today, too. Guy must know something about baseball, but then, you would never admit to that.

I'm going to shoot myself if Boomer makes another football reference.

    Who gets paid more money?
Who is supposed to be the best player in the game?
Who has never won a World Series?

I could use your help on the A-Rod thread, Creole.

Yeah, just visited it but didn't post. I'm not saying the loss is squarely on A-Rod. To say/think that would be ludicrous. But there's a big reason Derek Jeter is loved and A-Rod is not. Jeter is clutch when it matters (not perfect, but clutch). Jeter has won World Series rings. A-Rod is not. And he's, allegedly, the best baseball player in the league. Well, if that's the case, and if he's getting paid all that damn money, why does he fail so much in the clutch?
