Endy Chavez has been one of the most underrated offseason moves for the Mets. He's a solid bat at the end of the lineup, good speed, solid defense, decent arm. He's one of those bench guys that make up part of a good team.

Grady Little is a fucking moron, walking Reyes (15.7% strikeout rate) to load the bases for LoDuca (8.89% strikeout), who hits a sac fly.
That's another reason the Mets will win this series.

There's a 48-year-old running, but you still have to be aggressive. Ridiculous how many runs the Dodgers have given away in the series, at the plate, on the bases and on defense.

I think Gary Thorne left his Mets hat for Thom Brenneman to wear.

Do teams stop swinging bats in the playoffs?

No Pedro. No El Duque. No Problem!

    Good-bye Dodgers.

    And Padres.

My point was pitching and hitting are related.

Anyone who still calls Rodriguez the best player in baseball needs to advance past 2003. Pujols has that title now and there's no one even close to him.

Nice play by Carlos Delgado, catching the wild throw and making the tag for the last out.

Where are all the people on this board who've been saying the Mets were toast and Glavine was washed up?

    Sure seems quiet now.

The Mets have the best position player talent in the NL by a mile. Believe it or not, that matters.

Twins and Padres, yes. But that's not the point.

But when I think of who's won the past five years, I think about the White Sox rarely having to go to the bullpen most of the playoffs, or Schilling, Pedro and Foulke in 2004, or Beckett in 2003, or the Angels' bullpen in 2002, or Schilling and Johnson in 2001.
