    Yankee's lose

    They are pathetic.

    Again, wow.

The past three games -- asking for a winning season from the Pirates is a bit much -- prove dreams really do come true.

20 straight scoreless innings for the most powerful offense in history. [/whistling through the graveyard]

The two teams that advanced to the postseason on five-game losing streaks before this year's Tigers each went on to win the WS

The better question here is: Why do we keep getting fooled?

Last couple seasons, the Yankees have mashed their way through the regular season, and everyone forgets what happened last year in the playoffs. Then, the pitching implodes, they're run out of the postseason thanks to some quiet bats, they sign a few more aging stars in the offseason, mash their way through the regular season, and we're right back to declaring them a lock to make the WS, right up until a team with superior pitching runs them out of the playoffs.

I'll admit, I was fooled too. I thought they'd cruise, and so did everyone else. People were laughing about Detroit's chances. And yet, here they are, kicking the fucking ass of a team that was, just a week ago, getting sucked off as the new Murderer's Row.

Yankees by far. The Twins backed their way into the playoffs ... Yankees steamrolled through the powerful AL East.
