    The real Murderer's Row had the best pitching in the league by a wide, wide margin ('27 Yanks had a team ERA of 3.20. Second-best pitching was by the fifth-place White Sox at 3.91.)

    Slight correction. The Twins backed into the AL Central title. They clinched a playoff spot with plenty of games left.

    True, but if they would've settled for the wild card, it couldn't even be considered a playoff team since no AL Central team could possibly stand a chance against the mighty Yankees.
