    If you're La Russa, do you pitch Carpenter in Game 2 on the road, where his ERA is over 4.00, or save him for Game 3 at home, where it's about 1.80? Might make more sense to pitch him in Game 3, because the Cards can't afford for him to be ordinary. If he goes out and gets beat tomorrow, they're down 2-0 with Suppan and Reyes going in Games 3 and 4, which means they're probably toast.

    The Mets' starters in the next four games are John Maine, Steve Trachsel, Oliver Perez and Tom "Creature of Habit" Glavine on short rest. I'm not worried. The Cardinals might close it out in St. Looooooie!!!!
