Should Rolen struggle, it won't be his fault. Blame the O-line, receivers, backs, coaches, media pressure, lack of support from the organization...

Anybody know why Rolen and LaRussa aren't speaking? LaRussa, that baseball genius, the Steven Hawking of percentages, isn't talking to his third baseman? His baseball MENSA card should be revoked.

You mean other than because Rolen is a pussy and can't take even the slightest bit of criticism?

Not for nothing but Mustard's savage hatred of Rolen never fails to amuse the hell out of me. :D

In all seriousness, I think late in the season LaRussa benched him, presumably to let whatever his ailment of the week was heal. Rolen supposedly found out about it when he saw the lineup card and got pissy about it.

Rolen really has torpedoed his rep this postseason with his poutiness and pitiful play.

Ah, if only this were his free-agent year.

Just wait'll the subject of Alonzo Mourning comes back up. That's half of my Mount Rushmore of Sporting Jackasses.

Hmmm... so does that make Scott Rolen the Terrell Owens of the Cardinals, only without the theatrics and attempted scuicide?

Well, those are two fairly significant differences.

Suppan has had two big Game 7 performances in succession.

Last time a pitcher has had as good a performance in successive game 7s?

He was pretty goddamn awful in the 2004 World Series too.
