La Russa deserves fucking HUGE credit.

Done as well as a manager can do for his team at the end of the regular season and playoffs.

La Russa's only problem now is that, since he won his ONLY World Series, round about 17 years ago now, he's a gaudy 1-12 in World Series games, I believe.

Not a particularly strong at bat there by Beltran. Then again, no Met had a particularly strong at bat tonight. Who'd have thought the series would turn because Oliver Perez didn't get the run support he deserved. What were the Mets tonight 0 for 27 with runners in scoring position?

    Bull-fucking-shit.

    Credit three people:

Yadier Molina (game winning home run) and Adam Wainwright (for getting out of the jam) and Carlos Beltran (for not swinging at 0-2).

"I hit the bull in the stands"

    Funny line by Rolen.

"A little bit of a tumultous inning for No. 27 there."

That's a classic Rolen quote, even better than speaking of himself in the third person.

I guess flyover country will be deliriously happy. They have their World Series and no NYC teams anywhere to be found. Choke on it, fucks.

    La Russa moved Molina up.

Put Spiezio in for Rolen and it paid a huge dividend.

He held Carpenter at the end of the regular season, setting up the Padres series.

    So... shut the fuck up.

No fucking way dude you're insane.

LaRussa has earned himself 15 more years of glowing prose for directing a team from the edge of the biggest choke of all-time to the World fucking Series.

He won the fucking LCS with a rotation of Chris Carpenter, Jeff Suppan, Jeff Weaver and Anthony Reyes, a rookie closer and a middle of the lineup that took a collar most of the LCS.

Granted, the Mets proved to be as fraudlent as I said way back in April. But in a series of constantly shifting momentum, this was a helluva job by LaRussa.

Well, here's a fucking happy thought: The Cardinals will be curbstomped in four by the Tigers.
