If Rolen is about to get hot, that would be big.

I would favor the Tigers, but better teams go 3-4 or worse against inferior competition all the time.

 

I'd guess Reyes would start for the Cards in game 1? Or would they bring back Weaver on short rest?

 

If Edmonds gets his head out, the Cards' batting order is superior. I think it's a crapshoot at this point.

 

I agree, but I think the Mets would have been in far better shape for the World Series b/c they could have gone with well-rested and October-tested El Duque in Game One.

Reyes in Game 1.
Weaver in Game 2.
Carpenter not 'til Game 3.
Suppan not 'til Game 4.

How are the Tigers going to go? Rogers, Verlander, Bonderman, Robertson?

I think you go Weaver and Carpenter on short rest so that they can pitch twice if needed.

You can intone all that "fuck you" bravado.... but I would make sure Rogers had that crowd and that energy twice if my job is to maximize my team's chances to win the series.
