So... was Pujols held in check.... or did he perform like an MVP?

A sac bunt was not the right move. You are giving up an out when you are trailing by two runs, you have only two outs left, and you are only getting the tying run to second. The other thing is that half of the time, a sac bunt doesn't work. Cliff Floyd taking a shot is the best move you can make at that point.

Unless he's getting intentionally walked and can't do a thing about it, he didn't perform like an MVP.

Floyd entered that at-bat 1-for-26 (.038) as a pinch-hitter since 2001, and most of those ABs were with a functioning left Achilles.

    Not exactly a high-percentage move.

I would have pinch-hit Woodward and bunted the runners over, and I thought that before Cliff fanned.

'It's no big deal. I've been down 4-3 in a series before. We'll just get 'em tomorrow. [/Willie]

Did I stutter before? I said he didn't perform like an MVP.

He played a lot like Howard did the final three weeks.

    Except Howard's team failed.

Howard's team also didn't have a potential back-to-back Cy Young winner to anchor that team.

Pujols hit for a good average in the NLCS, but the one home run and one RBI stand out to me. You would think he would do more damage than that in seven games.

Ryan Howard's last 21 games (that's the equivalent of three seven-game series), as the Phillies sunk out of view:

    2 HR
    11 RBI
