Rolen's path to the plate was the path any runner who knows SHIT takes around third.

It's a non-issue. The rule is correct as is.

I'm not questioning the obstruction rule when properly enforced...that call was borderline but OK.
But why is it so important to "fix" a bookkeeping issue that has no effect on the outcome of a game??

Because.... it is nothing but idiotic.

So is it idiotic to give a "blwon save" to s et-up reliever who loses a lead in the 7th inning when we know there was no way he was in there to finish the game.
Everything about the save rule, the blown save, the hold (an agent-invented stat) is idiotic.
The simple scoring rule is the relief pitcher who completed the innning before his team took the lead for good is the pitcher of record.
I realize this is difficult for a troll like yourself to comprehend.

    Dumb fuck.

We all know that's the rule.

That's why I am saying the RULE has to be CHANGED.

Spnited misses the days when Christy Mathewson would go 28-15 during the season with 30 complete games.

    Saves are just for pussies.

This conversation is boring me, kind of like the WS.

Let's get back to some NYSportsJournalists.com:

    - While Torre had the worse series, none of his moves were as blatantly awful & damaging as Randolph not bunting in the 9th, and I'm not usually a fan of the sacrafice, but that's a no-brainer.

    - Who's going to explain the difference between the performances of the 2 NY 3Bs in the postseason, other than a few octaves in the post-game interview?

    - As a championship snob, I'll be disappointed by this year's champ, as I have been for many of the recent champs, but really bothered by the Cards if they do it. What a mediocre team.

The difference in the two NY third basemen is that one is paid $25 million per year and is considered one of the top 5 players in the game. The other is a 24 year old in his third season and first post season.
Wright had a terrible NLCS but he gets a pass (not that I agree) because he's young.

I am not saying this to be a smart ass but I did say the Yankees were in trouble and didn't think they would win in the playoffs.

Judging from the look on LaRussa's face, he agrees with me that that was one of the worst National Anthem performances ever.

    That was a godawful anthem.

I'm ashamed to have ever owned an Anita Baker CD.
