Cano is going to have Hall of Fame career, whatever his batting average ends at, what taints him is the positive PED test

Personally I’m done with the PED shit. At this point I don’t care anymore. Let it be a factor to consider I guess for players like Palmeiro and Sosa. But Clemens, Bonds and McGuire are no brainers and it’s time for some perspective. As it stands now, Baines in and Bonds out only makes the Hall and the voters look like idiots and creeps.

As a small boy, I remember listening to this game on the radio. The Phillies were awful, but I remember how confident their announcers were pregame because veteran Robin Roberts was going up against some kid making his major league debut who was bound to be nervous.

I don't disagree but Cano is on more than an outside track for a Hall of Fame career. Put him up against anyone else at his position, and he stacks up. He is a top 10 all-time second baseball and arguably top 5. What more do you want for a Hall of Famer?

Yankees played God Bless America during the seventh inning stretch in an empty stadium. They went to commercial so I don't know if they played Take Me out to the Ballgame too.

I think some of this stuff is to try to keep things as "normal" as possible for the players. To keep the routine and the rhythm they're used to. Superstition is gospel in baseball.

Somewhat surprised they didn't opt for Detroit. At least there'd be one major league team there this season.
