Looks like a dislocated middle finger. He'll be out a month or two I'm guessing. Dangit!

Rick Peterson has done a nice job with the Mets' rotation. Glavine was the only sure thing the Mets had heading into the season, but Peterson has John Maine looking like an ace. Oliver Perez looks like he might be harnessing his nasty assortment of pitches. Jorge Sosa--Jorge Sosa!--looked very good tonight.

maybe there is something to pitching coaches. after all, didn't sosa go 13-3 two years ago for the Braves, whose staff was coached by Mazzone.

You see what the Red Sox do against a real left-hander who didn't even go six innings, rare for him.

All the venom spewed in the direction of Pat Burrell is cracking me up. Ryan Howard is the one killing the Phillies right now. He's been horrible.

And the number of good hitters who still haven't shaken early-season funks is pretty amazing. I just don't see what the alternative is for the Phillies? Play Werth every day?

Any guesses as to how Tim Lincecum does in his start for the Giants Sunday?

Forget real left-handers, they couldn't even hit Ted Lilly in past seasons.

They can't beat Halladay, they can't beat Santana on an off night, they can't even beat Gil Meche. Yeah, this is the best team in baseball.

Meche does still have a 2.23 ERA, 35 Ks and 10 walks. It's not like he lacks command and gives up five runs a night, like Dice-K.

The Red Sox have always struggled with lefties. Kazmir owns them. Lilly owns them. Santana on an off-night owns them, though the Twins bullpen was really what owned them. Hell, piece of shit Kei Igawa dominated the Sox for six innings.
My favorite part of the season so far is hearing Buster Olney claim Dice-K did his job against the Mariners by keeping his team in the game. Hey, Buster, don't you think it was the Mariners pitching that kept the Sox in the game, not Dice-K? He gave up 7 fucking runs and has an ERA in the high 5.00s.

I just finished watching the tape of the Yankees game and I am excited for the rest of the season. Wang was absolutely dealing. With him and Mussina finally healthy, the Yankees surely can't be as bad as they have been so far.
